Which I think in day care terms meant that she finally tinkled in the potty. Up until this day, she wet her pants after sitting on the potty. I'm sure it was infinitely frustrating for them to keep up the excitement when there was failure. Yes, I got the training started, but I wouldn't have had the stamina to keep it up all day, all week. She certainly knew the concept, but the timing was a bit off for awhile. My hats go off to her teachers!
Anyway, back to the birthday girl: While driving home she insisted that it be my birthday. When I sang, "...Happy Birthday dear Bella..." she yelled, "no, Mommy, Haby Mommy!" ['Happy' and 'Birthday' combined] More gifts were opened that evening.
Later we celebrated with an effent card...
...and dinner at Lupe Torilla's (thanks to Uncle John for bringing entertainment!). This was also the place of our first public toilet success. It was quite funny because there was another mother with her slightly older kids, one of which opened the door while she was pottying. Bella and I saw it all, which really just encouraged Bella to be like everyone else and tinkle on the potty.
...then cupcakes for everyone!
Bella received a tricycle for her birthday from her other grandparents earlier this winter...
...while they got a really great snow shovel! Ha!
Thank you to all of our family! You have made Bella's birthday so special!
